隨著寶藏巖10月2日重新開幕，城市遊牧影展收到新的經營單位台北國際藝術村的邀請，想起了《腳踏車電影院》這個概念，可以讓人家在這個很特別的地方欣賞免費的電影，這個計畫將從10月24日至11月27日進行 (www.urbannomad.tw)。《腳踏車電影院》會包含五場放映，原來打算舉行全部在戶外在草地上，但是因為颱風的來襲，這個周某會開始在室內，地點剛宣佈要改為台北國際藝術村，來自東歐的導演 Milena Kaneva 會出席。以後，還是會有機會鋪一塊布在草地上，喝一杯葡萄酒，欣賞好片！別錯過萬聖節 (10月31日) 的日本的〈Wild Zero〉，那天有僵死，有各種怪物，也有台灣傳奇搖滾樂團濁水溪公社的MV回顧。
第一場是10月24日，電影叫《血淚石油》TOTAL DENIAL，導演 Milena Kaneva 也特地台來參與放映以及第二天的座談會。《血淚石油》紀錄緬甸人權民運人士卡索瓦Ka Hsaw Wa多次進出緬甸少數民族地區，冒著生命危險，紀錄遭到政府加害的人民慘況和種族屠殺現場。為何有這種屠殺呢？加州聯合石油公司和法國道達爾石油公司為保護該公司的油管工程，僱用緬甸軍政府的軍隊，在油管區進行非人道行為：武力脅迫、施虐及強暴當地居民。
米莉娜˙卡妮瓦 (Milena Kaneva) 是一名特約記者，也是一位獨立紀錄片的導演，她多年來報導政治與人權的新聞，曾播出於美國公共電視 (PBS)、國家地理電視 (National Geographic Television)、義大利國家電視台 Rai 等媒體，也曾前往印度拍攝達賴喇嘛的專題報導，她訪問過緬甸異議人士翁山蘇姬，並向全世界播送。2006年她完成《血淚石油》之後，仍繼續以影片紀錄緬甸 人權危機。

After four years of renovation, a Taipei arts district called Treasure Hill is reopening. Urban Nomad has been invited to screen films, FOR FREE! and outdoors. The series will run form Oct. 24 to Nov. 28 (details at www.urbannomad.tw). The screening series is called DRIVE-IN MOVIES. Don't miss one of the weirdest movies of all time on Halloween, Japanese rock band Guitar Wolf's rock 'n roll zombie movie WILD ZERO. We'll also show a retrospective of music videos by the Taiwanese rock band LTK. But first, we should start with the first screening:
On October 24 (Sun) from 3-6pm, we're showing TOTAL DENIAL and holding a discussion forum with the director, Milena Kaneva. Ms. Kaneva is an expert on Burma, and is in fact on her way to Thailand to cover Burma's national elections in early November. Her documentary TOTAL DENIAL investigates the human rights abuses associated with the construction of an oil pipeline in Burma funded by western oil companies, UNOCAL and TOTAL, which results in the first ever class action law suit by foreign nationals against US companies. It is also the story of the one-man mission of Burmese activist Ka Hsaw Wa, a former jungle warrior wanted by authorities both in Myanmar and Thailand.
Milena Kaneva is an independent filmmaker and freelance journalist, who has reported from Africa, Asia, and South America, reporting for World Wide Television News, RAI (Italy), PBS and National Geographic Television, among others. Her reports on the Dalai Lama from India and her interview with the Nobel Prize laureate for Peace, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, kept under house arrest by the Burmese military junta for the last fifteen years, were broadcast around the world.

DIRECTOR DISCUSSION FORUM: FILMMAKING AND HUMAN RIGHTS IN BURMA
10/24 (Sun) 3pm: Milena Kaneva will discuss her experiences in Burma with members of the Taiwan chapter of the Free Burma Network, including Tony Yang and Bai Yi-jun. This session comes just as Burma is preparing for national elections in early November and will offer significant perspective on those coming events.
